Aquaneering - Year-in-Review
If you've been following Aquaneering lately, you've probably noticed some big changes. A year ago, back in March 2024, we made a promise to ourselves (and to our customers): we were going to modernize, organize, and professionalize the company from top to bottom.
Now it's March 2025—and wow, what a ride it's been.
This past year has been about rethinking how we work, how we build, and how we show up for the amazing researchers who rely on us. And while we're not done (we never will be), we've made some seriously exciting progress. Here's a look back at the highlights.
Let's start with the showstopper: our brand-new rack design. We took everything we knew about zebrafish housing and reimagined it with today's tech.
Now, each rack runs on a single smart controller that can handle everything—plus, we added two mechanical filters to stop media from escaping. The redesigned sump? It's sleek and allows for external mounting of variable-speed pumps, making maintenance easier and more flexible.
But the real magic is in the sensors. These racks are loaded with electronic level-sensor (no contact needed), plus pressure and flow sensors that react automatically to changes in the system. And here's the best part: if anything goes out of spec, you'll get an alert on your phone through our new mobile app. Simple...fast...and smart.
One of the smartest changes we made last year was restructuring our service team. Instead of everyone working from one location, we now have service pros working remotely across the U.S.
That means faster help when you need it and less time waiting. It also means more affordable support—we cut down on travel costs and passed those savings on to you. Win-win.
We'll admit it: we used to struggle with keeping the right parts in stock. That's not the case anymore. We've put a real inventory management system in place so we can track consumables in real-time and reorder what we need—before things run out.
That means fewer delays, quicker shipments, and fewer headaches for you (and us).
Customization used to slow us down. Not anymore.
We invested in CAD automation this year, and it's already paying off. Now we can turn around custom rack designs faster and more accurately than ever. Add to that our upgraded manufacturing processes, and here's what you get: stand-alone racks shipped within one week of receiving your order. Yes, really.
Behind all these changes is something just as important: the way we work together.
Over the past year, we restructured how our sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams communicate. Everyone knows their roles. Everyone's connected. And that means quicker responses to your questions, fewer dropped balls, and smoother project turnarounds.
Even more important? We've shifted the company culture from being siloed to being collaborative. People are sharing ideas, solving problems together, and just getting more done. The vibe here is different—in the best way possible.
One of our biggest wins this year has nothing to do with tech—it's about mindset. We've made it clear across the company: that customer comes first.
That attitude is showing up in how we answer calls, how we handle service, and how we think about product design. It's no longer just about getting the job done. It's about getting it done right...for you.
We're proud of the progress we've made, but we're just getting started.
2025 is going to be about building on this momentum—continuing to improve our systems, strengthen our service, and deliver the kind of experience our customers deserve. Keep checking in with us to see a new product coming out soon, specifically designed for tough economic times.
If you've worked with us recently, thank you for being part of the journey. If you haven't, we hope you'll get to see (and feel) the difference soon.
Here's to another big year. Let's keep moving forward—together.
